About The Oak Valley Middle School PTSA The Oak Valley Middle School PTSA has had the opportunity to serve the Oak Valley Middle School community this past year. We are proud of our accomplishments, but we couldn't have done it without the support of the parents, t This year's goals are to encourage positive parent, teacher and student relationships at OVMS, to help coordinate volunteer efforts on campus, to focus on student safety on campus, personally and within the community and to supplement quality learning materials in the classrooms. PTSA Sponsored Programs for
Oak Valley Middle School (2009 – 2010) Art Corps – Volunteers teaching art lessons to every student. Parent Partners – Pilot program with 6th grade teachers (new for 2009/10). Oak Valley Giving Tree – Support families in need around the holidays. Middle School College Readiness Fair – Provide support and promotion for this informative event. Red Ribbon Week/Drug Awareness/Making Good Choices/Personal Empowerment/ Character Building & Parent Education Nights – Highlights drug and alcohol awareness, promotes healthy choices based on character pillars and help for parents. More information to follow. Reflections – Local, state and national PTA arts recognition and achievement program. Hospitality/Staff Appreciation – OVMS to host the Council meeting in the fall. Various activities throughout the school year to show OVMS staff how much we appreciate all that they do. Volunteer Registration and Clearances – on-going e-mail support for volunteer opportunites on campus. WEB (Welcome EveryBody) – Financial support. Item Swap-age Opportunites – Girls clothes, sporting goods, etc. |
The Palomar Council PTA which serves 35 local PTA Units in the Poway Unified School District. The 9th District PTA The California State PTA (California Congress of Parents, Teachers, and Students, Inc.) is a branch of the National PTA, serving as a connecting link between the national organization and its membership within the state. The National PTA (National Congress of Parents and Teachers) is a volunteer educational organization, founded in Washington, D.C., in 1897. Branches of the National PTA have been established in all 50 United States, the District of Columbia, U.S. Virgin Islands, and in schools for American dependents in Europe and the Pacific area. |
